FROM "1960 ALBERT HALL "FAREWELL CREAM" CONCERT OF "LESSER AUDIO/VISUAL QUALITY IN ITS ENTIRETY{ONLY POSTED "I'M SO GLAD" THIS TIME}{FEROCITY, TENAAACIOUS ATTACK & ECSTATIC JOY OF EACH "BANDMATE" OVERCOME LESSER QUALITY"}::"+iqmygift2u Yep, there are a lot of things that have 'gone West.' Luckily, things tend to go in cycles. We may yet have a revival of a desire for authentic and live. What worries me is that which might (just might) be permanently lost. Here I am not thinking about royalties or spontaneity or artists rights. No, my main concern is the sad fate of the attention span. Appreciation of music (good music that is) takes time and patience. For example, the very physical act of going to a gig meant that you were there to hear them for the evening. The physical process of putting on a record meant that you were at least committed to listen to a side for half and hour or so.Now that you can flick-and-move, flick-and-move, I expect something vital might be lost forever.
